I don’t know the slightest bit about Gil Now, but this mid-60s Gallic mod killer track, originally released on Barclay Records, even surpasses the splendid French rhythm & blues adaptations by the late, great Nino Ferrer, and easily. Actually, Dis-Le Moi is a cover of Skate, a classic late nite Hammond dancer by Northern Soul legend Dean Parrish. This Monday’s motto: Je veux être noir.
