Camille remixed

Camille is no stranger to electronic dancemusic. She sang on tracks produced by Etienne de Crécy and worked with the mysterious oOmiaq. But to my knowledge, Ta Douleur is the first Camille-track that gets remixed. And not by the just anyone. Henrik Schwarz is a highly talented German graphic designer slash producer slash dj. He makes disco-tinged, techno-influenced and funkified music, and remixed the likes of Coldcut, Alex Smoke and Slope. He transformed Ta Douleur into a subtle, piano-driven dancetrack that (thank god) doesn't rely on symphonic synthbreaks or a monstrous beat. On the flipside of the 12-inch vinylrecord is a remix by Al Usher. Good, but Henrik's way better.

  4. I just stumbled upon this blog after accidently stumbling onto Emilie Simon and I have to say: YOU ARE AMAZING! This blog is incredible. I have been taking French class for years and now in 10th grade I'm taking year three of french and its the highlight of each and every day. I love learning the language so naturally I love the culture and music and just singing along and learning more and more french by listening to the music but finding french music in my tiny town and even my state for that matter, is VERY difficult so this blog has just made my day! I check it every day now and the mp3s you provide have only further enforced the idea that I will keep looking for these cds and actually purchase them! besides, what good are a bunch of mp3s when you can have the cd, with the artwork and the way the artist intended. But the mp3s you put up let me listen to the music and decide if i like it and then choose whether i'll buy the cd. Right now i think i'm going to go bankrupt trying to buy all of these cds! You don't have to understand every word of the songs to feel the beauty coming across in them! I just want to thank you for making such a wonderful blog and spreading this incredible music that i would not have otherwise been able to find so easily! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

  5. Not a fan of that remix. Something funkier and livelier would have been nice, that's just way too...German. Boring and too electronic.

  7. I am SO UPSET that I did not stumble upon this blog earlier. I heard the al usher remix in passing and couldn't stop thinking about it for days, which soon turned into months. I've only heard the remix once but I am so desperate to hear it again. I have been searching for a copy high and low but to no avail. Now, I hear that there is another dub by Henrik Schwarz...! HOW CAN I LISTEN TO THEM BOTH? PLEASE HELP ME!!!
